First Week of Kindergarten

This week has been a great week at school. We have been working on the letters Aa, Bb, Cc, Dd and Ee. We have talked about words that begin with the sound as well as practicing writing the letters. We have also started workshops. The children have been exploring with geo boards and pattern blocks, graphing names by the number of letters, stamping lowercase letters with their corresponding uppercase letter, and sorting actions by good choices or bad choices. We have been getting to know each other this week and we have had lots of fun together. BEE notebooks will be sent home on Friday. We will begin to use them everyday. Sorry for the delay, I have been out several days due to a death in my family. If you have any questions please feel free to call me.

Welcome to my classroom boys and girls! I am so very excited to meet you and your family. We will do lots of exciting things in kindergarten. You will learn to read and write and do math. We will play games together, read books together and write stories together. Ms. Sarah and Ms. Mattison are also teachers in our room. Please do not forget about meet the teacher night. I am looking forward to meeting you and letting you see the classroom. Please bring your school supplies with you that night. Don't forget to get a clear 1 inch three ring binder. We will use this as our take home "communication" notebook. If you want to bring extra things for the classroom, we could use some small party favor type toys for our treasure box. Unopened Happy Meal toys work great as well. Enjoy the rest of your summer!!!
